Euro 2024 is coming to Berlin and throughout the tournament we will be getting into the soccer spirit in all of our cafés with the debut of our latest star signing: Galactico from Guatemala. Released exclusively for the Euro 2024 period, Galactico is a sweet, balanced, and versatile coffee from Guatemala and the perfect base for two new signature drinks. As our flavour of the tournament, we will be serving Galactico in all our espresso based drinks and the freshly roasted beans will be available on our shelves to take home.
Introducing Galactico
Boasting notes of blood orange, caramel, and malt, our team has curated two new signature drinks: the Coffee Paloma and Amaro Paloma, available until the action concludes on the 14th of July. Both drinks use our Galactico coffee from Guatemala, prepared as an iced filter brew. We are matching the natural notes of blood orange and vanilla found in the coffee with fresh citrus or fragrant Amaro - seasonal additions to our summer drinks menu and after hours specials - though please note, the Amaro Paloma is available only at our café on Potsdamer Platz.
Alongside the drinks, our bakery team is preparing four new treats. With vegan matcha cupcakes using the same high grade matcha now found on our menu, seasonal berry cupcakes, and two sweet cookies.
The Flavour Of Huehuetenango
Our Galactico coffee was grown in Huehuetenango, where cold mountain temperatures are balanced by warm winds that blow from Mexico, creating a superb microclimate. The mineral-rich soil creates depth and sweetness while the long dry summers allow for perfect processing conditions. We have been working with producer Francisco Morales for many seasons and visited his estate in March this year.
One of our favourite Central American coffees, we want to make Francisco’s superb coffee a summer focus. In the cup, Galactico has notes of blood orange, vanilla, chocolate, and malt. This coffee is perfectly balanced and deliciously sweet.
Potsdamer Platz
At our Potsdamer Platz location, we are now open ‘After Hours’, serving, wine, cocktails, and coffee until 9pm. On Alte Potsdamer Straße, our café at Potsdamer Platz is found in the beautiful Weinhaus Huth. Built in 1912, the Weinhaus is one of the few remaining historic buildings in the area and we are proud to continue the legacy of the Huth restaurant, a dynamic meeting place in 1920s Berlin. Alongside our seasonally curated coffee menu we serve a selection of natural wines, craft beers, and signature coffee cocktails - it is the only place to taste our Amaro Paloma!
