Daterra are known for their world-class coffees and research. Our Reserve Lot was done with two low caffeine varietals: Laurina and Aramosa.
Taken from Daterras experimental nanolots, this coffee is an assemblage of processes: Natural, Honey, Anaerobic and Aerobic fermentation. The result is a very complex cup profile with notes of milk chocolate, pecan pie and tropical fruits. The cup is balanced with a rich mouthfeel.
All four processes are done with the two varietals and each one added to the balanced cup profile: 1- natural: body, 2- honey: sweetness, 3- anaerobic: fruitiness & winy flavors and 4- aerobic: acidity & brightness. Using same varietals but with different processes is a technique that Daterra have applied to their Reserve level coffees, to unlock different flavors from the same beans through different processes and then recombining them to create one complex coffee lot, that shows the all different flavor potentials of the same varietal at the same time.

Laurina & Aramosa coffee naturally contains less than half of the caffeine of a regular arabica bean. Without compromising on body or flavour, this is a natural way that allows you to either drink more coffee in a day or those who are sensitive to caffeine have a chance to enjoy coffee.
