We roast our beautiful Dambi Uddo natural from Guji Highlands, Ethiopia, in small batches here in Berlin. Our friends at Voilà then brew it following Specialty Coffee Standards. With each pound of coffee beans, they produce a small amount Specialty Instant Coffee pouches. After brewing, the coffee is freeze-dried and then gently dehydrated to preserve all its unique tastes. No magic involved, just bold flavours straight from origin. All you need is hot water and a cup!
Why are we offering Instant Coffee and not Specialty capsules? The reasons are very simple: Capsules create waste, you still need some brew equipment and we don't find that they taste particularly good. In comparison, our Specialty Instant Coffee is full of flavour. Our packaging is fully compostable, and you can make your coffee without any equipment - all you need is hot water.
One box of our Specialty Instant Coffee contains 5 pouches of coffee. Each pouch can produce a beverage of up to 295ml (10oz). You can use one pouch for 2 cups of 150ml (5oz).

We recommend brewing our Specialty Instant Coffee at a lower temperature, around 80°C, and to let it cool a little to be really sweet with a good body. If you compare it to a hand brew you can see that the brew colour is a bit darker, which means the coffee ratio is more condensed. We would say the taste experience is more like a long black than a filter brew. Our Instant Coffee is in no way a replacement for a hand brew. However, it is a sweet, clean tasting coffee that by far exceeds any experience we have ever had with instant coffee - or even low grade coffee for that matter, so we highly recommend it.
A whole pouch is comparable to two capsules. We prefer to split one pouch over two cups of 150ml/5oz. This coffee has low acidity and it takes milk well, however we think it’s most delicious without milk.
