Dieser Pink Bourbon ist ein lebhafter Ausdruck des Terroirs von Huila, wo eine sorgfältige Gärung den von Natur aus eleganten Charakter der Rebsorte unterstreicht.

Im Geschmack entfaltet sich zunächst eine spritzige Ananassüße, bevor sich Aromen von reichhaltiger Erdbeerkonfitüre und reifen Kirschen entwickeln. Zarte blumige Noten sorgen für Frische und Komplexität, während ein lang anhaltender Abgang von dunkler Schokolade Tiefe und Ausgewogenheit verleiht. Eine sanfte, weinartige Säure trägt die Frucht, ohne sie zu überlagern, was zu einem raffinierten und ausdrucksstarken Spezialitätenkaffee führt. Jeder Schluck wirkt vielschichtig und lebendig und zeigt, wie eine durchdachte Verarbeitung die unverwechselbaren Eigenschaften des Pink Bourbon zur Geltung bringen kann.

Eine tolle tropische Variante

Eine tolle tropische Variante. Anfangs konnte ich die Himbeere nicht herausschmecken, aber ab der Mitte der Packung ist deutlich Himbeerkonfitüre zu schmecken. Die Ananas habe ich allerdings nie wahrgenommen – nicht umsonst werden sie zusammen mit Guave und Banane angeboten, sie haben etwas gemeinsam. Eine hervorragende Wahl, ich empfehle, sie zu probieren.

A bit overfermented, but interesting

Good smell and a good roast level, but the beans are on the overfermented side. I recommend brewing with a harder water and brewing with a lower temperature to avoid a vinegary taste.

Not talking about the roast, but I think this coffee should be a higher quality for the price that’s being asked.

One of the more exciting filter coffees I've had

Bought a bag in the shop and brewed it at home as a pour-over. Ground fresh on my grinder and made it in my V60 with water at around 94°C.

Really happy with it. It's properly fruity with that funky, fermented character you get from a natural process, and it holds up to the pineapple and strawberry notes on the bag. This is one of the more intense and interesting filter coffees you can brew by hand, a long way from the safe, slightly boring stuff you usually grab off a supermarket shelf.

If you like clean, mild, classic filter coffee this probably isn't the one for you. But if you want something bold and expressive with real character, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go. Positively surprised, would buy again.

A quick brewing tip: it takes the fruit and funk best as a fairly light, clean pour-over, so a slightly coarser grind and water just off the boil worked well for me.
