Data Privacy

THE BARNs GDPR preparation started long ago, and as part of this process we are reviewing and updating our internal processes, procedures, data systems, and documentation to ensure a GDPR compliant system. Much of our preparation is happening behind the scenes, but we are also working on required features visible to our customers, visitors and users. You can review our updated privacy data policy following this link. In addition, we will be prepared to address any requests made by our customers related to their expanded individual rights under the GDPR:

 

  • Right to be forgotten: You may terminate your THE BARN Webshop account at any time, in which case we will permanently delete your account and all data associated with it.

  • Right to object: You may opt out of inclusion of your data simply by changing the Privacy Setting on your account. 

  • Right to rectification: You may access and update your THE BARN account settings at any time to correct or complete your account information. You may also contact us at any time to access, correct, amend or delete information that we hold about you, as explained in our updated privacy policy.

  • Right of access: Our Privacy Policy describes what data we collect and how we use it. If you have specific questions about particular data, you can contact dataprivacy@thebarn.de for further information at any time.

  • Right of portability: We will export your account data to a third party at any time upon your request.

Furthermore, we adjusted our Google Analytics data to be compliant with the new GDPR guidelines. This means, you can prevent the cookie-based collecting of your website usage data (including your IP address) as well as further processing by Google by installing the browser plugin which you can get through this link. Alternatively to this browser add-on or in browsers on mobile devices, please click on this link to prevent the collecting by Google Analytics on this website for the future (the opt out does only work on that browser and only for that domain). Thereby, an opt-out-cookie will be filed on your device. If you delete the cookies in that browser, you will have to click on this link again. 

We want to point out that on this website, Google Analytics is extended with the a code to provide anonymised collecting of IP addresses (i.e. IP masking).

Cookies are small pieces of data saved by your browser on your device in an intended directory. By using these cookies, one can for example see if you visited a website before. Most browsers accept cookies by default. However, you can set your browser that no cookies will be saved and that before saving a cookie, an explicit agreement is necessary. We have prepared a short guide for the commonly used browsers for you to delete and modify your cookies.  Furthermore, you can delete set cookies at every time and turn off accepting cookies by following this procedure. Please note that disabling cookies can limit the usage of our website.

The cookies are needed for the following purposes: customer service, offering of new product, individual tailored customer information and aftersales follow-up.

We want to point out that every user of our webpage has the right to file a claim with the respective data policy authority in case of immediate action.
