Rwanda is the land of 1000 hills and blessed with ideal growing conditions for coffee: High altitude, regular rainfall and rich soil. This is the first time Huye Mountain has produced a natural processed coffee. We love this cup for its rich flavours: blueberry, blood orange, wine gum, maple syrup and sweet sugar cane. The mouthfeel is luscious.
The award winning farm is managed with great care and it is segmented into seven zones - each of them with a different flavour profile. Our lot comes from the Sovu zone which won the Cup of Excellence twice. David Rubanzangabo works with 1500 farmers who all receive agricultural training. Recently, David began an organic fertiliser program, and introduced an organic pesticide to fight the dreaded antestia bug.
