Your Coffee on 5th December. Gesha Village. Ethiopia

It is time to leave America. For the fifth day of Advent, we are taking you to the home of the famous Gesha varietal! Gesha Village was founded as a way to showcase the flavour of the region and highlight the incredible heritage of coffee in Ethiopia.

Inspired by the rich tapestry of Ethiopian coffee, producers Rachel Samuel and Adam Overton decided to begin their own coffee growing journey. Their goal was to create the most environmentally conscious coffee farm in Ethiopia, with an uncompromising commitment to quality in every step of cultivation and processing.

The varietal Gesha 1931, was found growing wild in the forests of West Omo, and chosen as the closest match to the very first Gesha ever identified. To taste this coffee is to experience the origins of the most famous coffee beans in the world.

In the cup, Gesha Village offers an array of fruit. Up front, expect juicy watermelon, peach, and citrus. This coffee has acidity and sweetness in true harmony, while jasmine in the cooling is a touch of classic Ethiopia. Natural processing enhances the intensity of fruit flavour while retaining a perfectly clean and floral profile.
