Our Anniversary Coffee
To celebrate 10 amazing years with you!

We are celebrating our 10th birthday with an extra-ordinary Nanolot from a new farm partner in Guatemala. This delicious coffee was undergoing intense processing which includes leaving the cherries air tight inside shaded tanks for 24 hours. Extreme slow drying to lock-in the coffees rich flavours. The cup profile is complex.

The Cup
is complex and rich. Sweet notes of toffee are dominated by funky flavours of blueberry and winegum. In the cooling, notes of raisins and red grapes are supporting beautifully the jammy mouthfeel of this coffee.  

The Farm
La Nueva Montana is located in the precious Fraijanes region in Guatemala.  Antonio Gonzales has planted his coffees under the shade of Avocado trees. Natural spring water supplies the family and workers. Environmental aspects are important to Antonio and so he focuses on producing top level naturals and honeys without using much of the water sources.

The Process
Cherries are picked at the ripest stage. The coffees are then rested for 24 hours in air-tight bags inside of a cold, shaded tank. This reposado / anaerobic style enhances the intense flavours of our lot, whilst keeping the profile absolutely clean.

Drying is slower than usual: 26-28 days which helps producing a clean profile and to capture all flavours inside our beans. The labour intensity and time spent with our small lot explains the high pricing of it.

The Producer
In the future Antonio is interested in developing his agronomic practices. He also wants to provide support to other producers in the region. “Together we take care of the environment avoiding any contaminations. To produce honeys and naturals is a very important way for us to improve our income and the wages for those who work for us. Production of these special coffees also allows us to know our produce better”, tells Antonio. “We really want to support our children to be able to study at a university”.
