The Specialty Coffee Association's (SCA) Education programs were created to help you develop your passion and sharpen your skills. Taught by Tom, our Head of Training and an Authorised SCA Trainer, the programs offer high-quality coffee education for every stage of your professional career.

Introduction to Coffee is ideal for anyone who is new to the coffee industry, or anyone curious to learn more about this wonderful beverage.
We will chart the journey of coffee from its origins in Ethiopia to the major commodity it is today. This course explains the processes coffee goes through from crop to cup, and how they create the huge variety of flavours that coffee has to offer.
The course includes a “cupping” which will sharpen your senses so you can explore the very different ways coffee can taste, and finishes with an introduction to several different brewing methods, teaching you how to make the most of your coffee with any equipment.
The course includes SCA's Introduction to Coffee certification exam in the form of a written test at the end of the class. On passing this test you will receive an internationally-recognised certification.
