FAQ
Our sustainable coffee capsules are made from 100% bio-based, renewable raw materials. The main ingredient here is wood, which is processed into our ecological coffee capsule in the form of wood shavings. For this purpose, the untreated wood fibers are mixed with a binder made of plant starch (PLA).
Due to 100% renewable raw materials, which come from the cycle of nature, no harmful substances can get into the environment even after use. Thus, our coffee capsules create a natural and CO2-neutral cycle.
Our capsule is compatible with the current Nespresso®* original machines and machines suitable for Nespresso capsules.
All machines sold after 2012 have been tested. If you are using an older machine (e.g. model series "ESSENZA") or are unsure about compatibility, please contact us at any time. Our coffee capsules do not fit in the following capsule machines: Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Tchibo Caffissimo, Nespresso Vertuo, Tassimo.
We recommend ejecting the coffee capsules directly after the brewing process. The wood fibers in the coffee capsule swell up during the brewing process. This is also one of the reasons why the coffee capsules can be composted so easily. But it also means that the capsules can get stuck if they are not ejected immediately after the brewing process. So just open the lever of your capsule machine as soon as your coffee is ready, so that the capsule falls into the collection container.
Our coffee capsules have a roasting date. Sounds logical, but is never shown on commercial packaging. Freshness and seasonality are important to us.
Our Roast date is exactly 9 months before the due date on the packaging.
Our capsules are packed in an environmentally friendly natural kraft carton, because sustainability is our highest priority. Of course, we do not use any plastic packaging.
Our Single Origin Coffees come exclusively from the best growing regions in the world. We pay attention to sustainable cultivation. We maintain personal relationships with our farmers - so we can discuss exactly what needs to be improved in order to achieve the optimal taste for you.
By the way, we pay very fair for our coffees, often up to 3 times the fair trade price.
We have long searched for a way not to alter our light roasts to guarantee a clean taste experience. Through special grind settings and a tampering process during bottling, we have been able to achieve optimal extraction for our coffees.
We recommend to use our capsules for Ristretto and Espresso Shots. Lungo is not recommended.
The taste of our capsule coffees is clean, sweet and complex. Our roasts remain light, while other manufacturers roast their capsules typically very dark to achieve a good extraction. Unfortunately, this leads to very unfavourable cup profiles – that do the coffees not justice. You can see this clearly when you open our capsule and compare it to the ground of a conventional coffee capsule.
We only use high quality single origin coffees from sustainable farm relationships. It was important to us to reach more people with better coffee. That is why we started the capsule. We want to buy more specialty coffee from our farmers and be a good partner.
Our coffee capsules are 100% bio-based. They are DIN CERTCO certified. The basis for our coffee capsules is therefore from exclusively renewable raw materials that come directly from nature in the form of plants. Our capsules are 100% free of aluminum, fossil plastics and fossil microplastics.
Biobased products are made exclusively from raw materials of natural origin. Such raw materials grow back by nature and are therefore indefinite. Since they also bind CO2 during their growth, the subsequent disposal of the product does not increase the net CO2 content of our atmosphere. In addition, bio-based products do not produce microplastics, which are an additional burden on the environment and the health of humans and animals.
The better deal: You save per capsule when you subscribe to our refills.
Never run out of coffee at home: There are more important things in life than thinking about your coffee supply for the next weekend.
No commitment: change, pause or cancel your subscription at any time. You can also change the delivery address at any time and have your capsules sent to your vacation or home office.
