Pruning

FARMING

Cutting back branches, or pruning, is important to put the plant under stress, but also to cut back wood that would otherwise absorb nourishment that is needed for the cherries. There are different styles of pruning - usually the top and the branches at the bottom are cut off.

When the harvest is over, the growers enter a period of farm-keeping: planting new seedlings or replacements, removing weed, feeding the plants, remove weak plants, and pruning.

This coffee plant is strong and healthy even though it is  still young, thanks to good pruning and farm management
