First Crack

ROASTING

During roasting we take the green coffee through different phases. During the drying phase, and the development of flavours and sweetness, the beans absorb a lot heat. At first crack the beans "pop" to release energy.

When we roast, this happens approximately 80-90% into the total roast time. After first crack we develop some more sweetness, round up the roast, and release the beans.
